TUgis is kicking off 2019 with an exciting announcement. This year's TUgis: Maryland's Geospatial Conference will move from a one day conference plus training day to a full two day conference.

Day 1: Wednesday, August 7

The first day will expand to include training sessions, the exhibit hall opening, a state and municipal caucus, special interest group meetings, and the Map/App gallery opening. We'll close out Day 1 with the popular happy hour.

Day 2: Thursday, August 8

From lightning talks and hands-on workshops to engaging panels, presentations, and our exhibitor showcase, there are multiple ways to get your work in front of audiences eager to learn and participate. An ice cream social will cap off the Day 2.

Early bird registration will open Monday, February 4.

The Map-App Design Competition highlights the importance of cartography to the geospatial community. Entries should demonstrate the use of GIS for specific applications and should illustrate the importance of the visual display of geospatial information in addition to overall user experience. The Map-App Design Competition is divided into two competitions.

Map Design Competition – Showcase static visual displays of information. Open to students only.

App Design Competition – Showcase online visual displays of information. Open to students and professionals.

Winners will be recognized at the end of day two at the ice cream social and be awarded a complimentary TUgis 2020 registration for up to one individual per submission.
