Joining the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) through the American Planning Association (APA) is a step that planners often choose during the professional careers. The benefits, costs, and other information about becoming a certified planner is provided by APA.
Part of the application process for AICP involves an exam. To help you get ready APA provides resources at the AICP website. Please contact the Chapter’s Professional Development Officer if you want to talk or need additional guidance.
APA Maryland will have two scholarships for chapter members to take the AICP exam in 2019 at the reduced cost of $145. To apply, send a letter of interest and explanation of financial hardship (including financial hardship caused by a budget cutback in a firm or agency) to email@example.com. The criteria for the scholarship award are as follows: members of minorities are given preference; the applicant(s) selected will be otherwise unlikely to take the exam without the reduced fee; the applicant’s employer will not subsidize the exam fee. If you are not taking the exam until next year, you can apply then.
