The Maryland Planning Commissioners Association (MPCA) Conference offers planning commissioners, board of appeals members, and anyone interested in citizen planning an opportunity to learn, share experiences, and exchange ideas. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the MPCA is once again conducting its annual conference virtually. We really hope that the pandemic will be behind us next year, and anticipate an in-person conference in Solomons in the fall of 2022.
This year’s conference theme is Let’s Get Back to It! because I think we can all agree that is exactly what we want to do. Last year’s conference and session topics focused on planning during a pandemic, while this year the MPCA wants to focus on what comes next. The benefits of a functioning and thriving citizen planning board to a community are more apparent than ever.
The 38th annual conference will offer topics of interest to the more than 1,400 citizen planners serving Maryland's counties and municipalities. The MPCA is still finalizing the 2021 conference agenda and will post it here when available.
This webpage will be updated as new information is available. To learn more or if you have any questions, please contact Joe Griffiths, Local Assistance and Training Manager for the Maryland Department of Planning, at joseph.griffiths@maryland.gov.
Registration for the virtual conference is free and provides access to all sessions and conference activities.
