INFO: https://register.gotowebinar.com/register/4432537504451855376

Registration is now open for a Virtual Event to Support Land Use Decision-Makers in the Potomac basin on May 7, 2021, from 12:00pm-1:00pm.

This event will kick off a stakeholder-requested webinar series to promote sustainable land and water resources management in the Potomac basin by creating a forum for sharing practical, ready-to-use tools and techniques. The series is being offered as part of the continued implementation of the Potomac Basin Comprehensive Water Resources Plan.

The May 7th event will feature a demonstration of the Chesapeake Healthy Watershed Assessment by Renee Thompson, a geographer with the USGS and the coordinator of the Chesapeake Bay Program’s Maintain Healthy Watersheds Goal Implementation Team. The readily available online, geospatial tool supports and informs management related to watershed health and vulnerability at the catchment scale. The health metrics include data related to landscape, hydrology, geomorphology, habitat, biological condition, and water quality that can be integrated to an overall watershed health index. The complementary vulnerability metrics incorporate potential stressors related to land use change, water use, climate and wildfire risk. Renee will also highlight some additional geospatial resources and tools developed by the Chesapeake Bay Program GIS team. At the conclusion of the May 7th event, participants will have a basic understanding of how to access, use, and get help with the tool.
Register for this free webinar HERE. Space is limited, please register early.
